A Short Review Of Tetsuo The Iron Man

Tetsuo Iron Man was the debut feature from the unpredictable Japanese director Shinya Tsukamoto. It’s a foreign film, but it’s not THAT kind of foreign film. As in, don’t think you’re going to be sitting there reading subtitles. There’s really very little dialog in the film, and what’s there isn’t usually important. It plays something like a silent film, so definitely put it in your queue the next time you log into your movie download service, whether or not you’re usually a fan of Japanese cinema.

The movie follows a typical Japanese salary man who, for no reason at all, starts to sprout pieces of scrap metal from his body. It starts when he’s shaving and pieces of… Aluminum cans or something start growing from his face. It’s very strange. Eventually, he grows into a living, breathing heap of junk metal, and it winds up being a great example of Cronenberg’s body horror genre.

Tsukamoto made the film around the idea of a monster flick with a human sized monster. So imagine Godzilla if Godzilla were only five foot eight. It’s not exactly like that, but it’s very similar. The film has two monsters doing battle: The salary man after his transformation, and Tetsuo, played by Shinya Tsukamoto himself. Both do battle as these metallic monsters, having a final show down in a junkyard on the outskirts of Tokyo.

This is the movie people point to when they talk about Japanese cyberpunk, which has always been more focused on the imagery of industrial machinery, steam, sparks and electricity than on the relations between man and computers. If you want to see more of this genre, you should also check out Electric Dragon 80000v and Burst City, which are considered two classics in this genre.

The movie is incredibly fast paced, and it’s even a little confusing, but that’s sort of the point. The movie also has a great look to it, with stark, high contrast black and white really driving home the nightmarish atmosphere of the film’s setting. It really results in a strange look and a strange feel. The movie feels much more like a bad dream than it does like events happening in real life.

The movie primarily draws influence from Eraserhead and Cronenberg’s Videodrome. A warning, if those movies made you squeamish, this one will, too.

Tsukamoto has since created some of the greatest films to come out of Japan in the last few decades. In particular, Tokyo Fist is a real classic, and one of the greatest films ever made on the subject of the male ego and what can happen when a conflict is allowed to snowball with neither side backing down. It’s really a great, deep look at what it means to be a man.

Tsukamoto is also an interesting actor, doing some bit parts for various Takashi Miike films. He also has another Tetsuo movie coming out, Tetsuo: Bulletman. It’s clear that, while he’s already been making movies for twenty years, he is nevertheless just now warming up.

You can watch this film now at the comfort of your home or anywhere you want to. reed hastings That said, the streams are of such excellent quality it seems the song is already downloaded on your computer. I hope that this blemish doesn’t hurt the success of this otherwise well-received film.

Marmaduke Free

Animation films have created a new market for themselves in Hollywood and have given the writers new regions and fields to think about. There have been a number of movies thus far having animals as the central character and while most of them have been inspired from a cartoon strip or a similar TV series, there have been others which are a product of new thinking. Like other genre movies some have been highly successful while some have sunk at the box office.

Marmaduke is a very popular newspaper comic strip which is being published since the year 1954 and has the drawings by Brad Anderson. Based on the strip, Marmaduke the live action based movie was released on 4 June 2010. The movie has been written by Vince Di Meglio, Tim Rasmussen and Brad Anderson while Tom Dey has directed it. 20th Century Fox have distributed the film which has been produced by John Davis.

Marmaduke the comic strip on which the movie has been based has been very successful but Marmaduke the movie fails to create the same magic and lacks the original strip on a number of parameters. Marmaduke the movie looks more of a dog show and less of a movie with the humor almost missing. The plot looks interesting though when it comes down to the realities of film making the movie fails miserably at the onscreen show.

Lee Pace plays the role of Phil Winslow while Judy Greer plays the role of Debbie Winslow. William H. Macy, Raugi Yu, Caroline Sunshine, Miliana Haines, Frank Topol and Michael Teigen are also present in significant roles. The voice for Marmaduke has been given by Owen Wilson while Keifer Sutherland has dubbed for Bosco. Carlos has given voice by George Lopez while Mazie and Jesebel have been voiced by Emma Stone and Fergie respectively.

The acting in the movie is not up to the mark as the actors have done overacting at many places. There movie has some positives in terms of dialogues which seem cute at some places. The treatment of animals like humans is also a plus factor for the movie. The jokes could have been made more meaningful which could make people laugh and the script could have been shortened.

William H. The dubbing for Marmaduke has been done by Owen Wilson while Keifer Sutherland has dubbed for Bosco. Mazie and Jesebel have been voiced by Emma Stone and Fergie respectively while George Lopez has given voice to Carlos.

The movie would not be liked by the masses though the dog lovers and children may like it. The probability of movie being successful at the box office is not high and the movie should be watched only if you want to take a chance and have nothing else to do.

A Review Of Terminator 2

James Cameron’s name is back on top thanks to the recent release of Avatar, which is said to break new ground in cinematic technology, as well as showcasing his trademark excellent story telling. Cameron made his name years ago with movies like Aliens but Terminator 2 is the one that really made it known that he was capable of making some of the greatest movies of all time. If you, for some reason, haven’t seen it yet, or just haven’t seen it in awhile, go ahead and watch T2 the next time you want to download movies.

T2 is remembered as a major stepping stone for the technology of special effects, alongside Jurassic Park, but people forget that the special effects were not the point of the film, that the effects were there to help the story, not the other way around. Cameron makes great steps in terms of special effects, but the effects are always, always there to serve the story, and not for their own sake.

If you haven’t seen it yet, you’ve probably been living under a rock, but we’ll recap the premise for you right quick… In the near future, the world is destroyed by evil robots. There’s a human resistance in the future to their rule, and so, the robots send one of their own back to kill John Connor, the guy who winds up leading the resistance as an adult. There, now you’re up to speed with the rest of the world visa vis the premise of the Terminator films.

T2 really does take some incredible steps in terms of special effects, though. The T-1000 is one of the all time great special effects creations in film history. Twenty years later, it still stands as one of the most impressive characters ever created with CGI, every bit as believable as Gollum or Doctor Manhattan. A lot of new technology was developed for the film, and that technology was coupled with artistry to create a really cool arsenal of effects.

The movie has a kind of purity to it in that, while the background is fairly complicated, the movie is not. The movie is driven purely on emotion and strong storytelling. You have the classic tale of the robot who becomes humanized and the heroes beating the bad guys. From there it’s all about the humanity of the characters, what they think and feel, even if there is some heady, high sci-fi stuff in there, it’s all about the people in the end.

Hopefully, you’ve seen this movie by now. In fact, it’d be sort of strange if you hadn’t. But, if you haven’t, don’t you think it’s high time you do? If you have internet under that rock where you’re living, you’ve got no excuse not to watch this movie already.

Seriously, watch it again. The movie actually does have some layers of depth and emotional complexity, so each time you watch it, you watch it from a new perspective based on where you are in life, what you’ve experienced in the years since you’ve seen it last. It really is one of those all time great classics where it feels like a better and better film the older you get.

Bottom line, it’s an all time American classic, and you need to see it. Either for the first time, or for the hundredth, it’s always a good time to watch Terminator 2.

Still, if you are upgrading to Leopard, you’ll probably want to upgrade here as well. Downloadable Movie Site Out: Waiting in long lines at the local video store. You may have noticed that if you try to download from P2P sites, you often don’t end up with the file you asked for’

Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver Reviewed

You always hear that Martin Scorsese is the best living filmmaker, and while that’s really up to the individual viewer, you have to concede that he at least ranks in the top tier of movie directors of all time, alongside Kubrick, Hitchcock and Coppola. Whether he’s doing his own original material as in Mean Streets or remakes like The Departed, he always puts a personal touch on the film. Taxi Driver is one of his best.

Not many directors are really as capable as Scorsese when it comes to being able to drag you into a fictional world, to build a whole atmosphere around you. You feel like you’re sitting shotgun in Travis Bickle’s cab right beside him. It almost feels like a documentary for its sheer realism. It is as close as you can get to “found footage” without some gimmick like having one of the characters hold the camera.

You could consider the film the second part of a trilogy with Wim Wenders’ Paris, Texas, and John Ford’s The Searchers, which both of the other films are loose remakes of. All three of these films tell a very similar story, and it goes to show that a movie not so much about what it’s about, but how it is about it.

Where The Searchers is primarily an adventure film revolving around themes of prejudice and loneliness, where Wim Wenders chose to make a real, but sweet-hearted film about the reuniting of a family, Scorsese opts to highlight the darker aspects of the story, the sheer lonesomeness of the hero, the outsider. In all three stories, the lead takes it upon himself to do something he sees as heroic. In all three, the real morality of what he does is questionable, and in all three, the hero retreats from those he’s saved at the end, always trying to find validation in heroics, but never able to join in.

Each film is a statement on loneliness, and this is why these characters are so easy to sympathize with. All three characters commit, or have committed, deeds that normal human beings would not take pride in, but you find yourself wanting them all to come out okay, even Travis Bickle, who is half hero and half sociopath, because we all know what it feels like to be so alone.

Everyone has been at a point in their lives where they feel trapped in their own little bubble. Loneliness doesn’t just mean being alone, being single or living out in the middle of nowhere. Loneliness can happen even when you’re surrounded by people all day. We know where Travis has been.

Few people are willing to talk about the darkest aspect of the film, because it involves looking at your own darker instincts: We root for Travis Bickle in the end. We shouldn’t, but we do, because we wish he could be the hero, we wish the film was a western so that his simplistic moral compass would be correct. The tragedy is that it’s not a western.

These three films serve as companion pieces to one another, but Taxi Driver also goes hand in hand with First Blood, which is also about a lonesome Vietnam veteran who uses violence as a way to solve issues of loneliness and seek validation.

We use these wonderful super-machines on a daily basis as they make our lives easier. Online Films I will be adding post and reviews on the latest and best Ipod movie downloads. Although you can find PSP files for download on the Internet for free they are usually fairly speratic.
