What Is a Modem?

One of the most known devices in or houses is the modem, and even when we get to work with everyday, do we really know what is.

The modem is a modulator that carries analog signals to encode digital information, but also is a demodulator, because is going to decode the information that was transmitted.

A modem is now faster than it was in the beginning and we have been experiencing this for a long time now, the birth of the modem with all the benefits that has come with such technology, not only the computer field has been beneficiated with this but also telecommunications.

The ASDL modem is the most recent that we have available, these are not limited to the telephone voice band or audio frequencies. This one is related to the broadband, which is growing in a very fast pace, soon people all over the world are going to be familiar with this great technology.

Online Coupons

Online shopping has gone through quite a surge during the past couple of years. Between the ease of use and lower shipping rates, more and more people are using online shopping for everything from every day shopping for food items to seasonal shopping for gifts. If you are doing online shopping, you should not be buying anything else until you’ve found online coupons for your favorite shops.

Competition for online consumers has led web shopping sites to almost continually offer online coupons for things such as free shipping, reduced shipping or price reductions. I know as a consumer I tend to shop around for particular items via different stores and then purchase through one that offers an online coupon simply because it usually ends up being the best over all price. There are very few online stores that don’t offer online coupons, so it is to your benefit that you check every time you shop.

Companies now realize that the internet is extremely popular when it comes to online sales. Therefore, not only are stores competing against each other in malls and physical stores, but they are now competing against each other for online consumers. These are very useful if you continually shop from the same sites, but if you are only making one purchase here and there from particular web sites then these club options are not for you. You would be better off searching for online coupons each time you complete a transaction, because chances are that one exists.

To check for online coupons, simply search for the store name & coupons using your trusty search engine (Google or Yahoo will do fine). This will bring up several sites that specialize in broadcasting and listing online coupon codes, so you will have to do some clicking before you find something. When you chance upon a site that you like, you can save a coupon site to your favorites and just use that site each time you check out the next time round.

Getting a Tattoo

What do you need to consider when getting a tattoo? First and foremost, do you really want a permanent marking on your skin? This won’t ‘grow back over’, as a piercing location would. This will be a lifelong alteration to the look of your body. While tattoos can be surgically removed, there is a great deal of scarring and potentially, skin grafting to remove the remnants of a tattoo.

The worst possible negative side effects include those derived by poor hygiene practices of the tattoo artist. Make sure you see them throw away previous needles and ink cups. Certainly it can be a concern, if you are interested in an extensive tattoo. Serious health complications can occur if proper sanitary techniques are not used. Concerns over hepatitis can be valid if the artist is reusing equipment that touches the skin. While tattooing seems as fashionable as costume jewelry, it brings with it many more possibilities for illness.

You must see needles come out of an unopened packet. Similarly, ink pots must be new, unopened, and unused. Cross contamination can occur when needles and inks are not new. Any reputable parlor will open fresh packets, and don’t be shy about asking! Decent, ethical artists won’t mind you checking, and if they do, walk out.

Instruments also must be fresh – everything that is reusable must be sterilized in an autoclave. You need to be able to see it, and make sure it works. An autoclave that doesn’t function properly is as pointless as not even washing the equipment between clients. Some parlours clean the instruments with ultrasound (it jiggles the contaminants free) before sterilizing them. This is obviously even better.

Check the general cleanliness of the parlour. Being able to answer these questions is very important:

1. Are the benches and work areas clean?
2. Is there hot running water?
3. Do the workers wash their hands regularly (check their toilet, is there soap and hot water available)?
4. Do they have sharps disposable containers?
5. Are the artists licensed?
6. Is the parlour registered?

If you cannot honestly answer all of these questions, do not get your tattoo at the parlor. You’re asking for a world of trouble and possible infections.

This leads us to the next thing to talk about – the issue of trust. How do you know they’re a good artist? This can only be addressed through your own research. Watch them work, see how they operate – make sure you check that it’s okay first! Don’t just waltz in and peer over their shoulder! See how they treat their clientele. Are they polite and courteous, or rude and condescending?

Don’t just look through the folder sitting forlorn on the table at the front of the parlor. Ask to see the artist’s portfolio – it will contain work they have actually done, not pictures they’ve gathered. Ask locals (who have tattoos) for recommendations of parlours in the area.

Remember…

1.) Do your research. Is this what you really want?
2.) Ensure the parlor is sanitary.
3.) Remember the long-term effects.
4.) Remember that removal is difficult and painful.
5.) Be in good health when you go to get your tattoo.
6.) Enjoy it!
